BESPOKE LAMPSHADE SERVICE MADE TO YOUR REQUIREMENTS

Sometimes you simply can't find what you're looking for off the shelf. The wrong size, the wrong shape, a fabric that doesn't exist in any ready-made shade. That's where I come in.

At Lume Lighting, I handcraft bespoke lampshades made entirely to your specification - the size, shape, style, and fabric are all your choice. Whether you need a shade to fit an unusual lamp base, want to use a fabric that's special to you, or simply want something truly unique in your home, I can make it happen.

What does bespoke mean?

Bespoke means made entirely to order, just for you. I work with you from the very first enquiry to make sure every detail is right , the dimensions, the style, the fabric, the finish. The result is a lampshade that fits perfectly and looks exactly as you imagined.

What styles can you make?

I can handcraft a wide range of lampshade styles to order, including:

- Traditional empire soft shades, hand-sewn and fully lined

- Drum shades, single and double sided

- Tapered shades

- Coolie shades

- Gathered shades

- Scallop shades

Not sure which style suits your lamp or your room? Just get in touch and I'll help you decide.

Can I use my own fabric?

Absolutely, in fact I'd encourage it. Choosing your own fabric means the shade is truly unique and perfectly matched to your home. I'll advise you on the right weight and type of fabric to work well for your chosen style. If you'd prefer to choose from my selection, I have a range of in-house printed and plain linen fabrics available. I can also source fabric on your behalf for a sourcing fee of £25.

How does the process work?

1. Get in touch with your ideas, a few photos, rough measurements, and any fabric thoughts are a great starting point

2. I'll come back to you with a quote and any questions

3. Once we're happy with all the details I'll ask for a deposit to begin

4. I handcraft your shade and keep you updated along the way

5. You can collect your finished lampshade from my Hove studio or it is delivered to your door

How much does a bespoke lampshade cost?

Every bespoke shade is priced individually based on the size, style, and fabric involved. Get in touch with your measurements and fabric choice and I'll give you a personalised quote, there's no obligation.

How long does it take?

Lead times vary depending on my current workload, but I'll always give you a clear timeframe when you enquire. Please get in touch as early as possible if you have a deadline in mind.

Love my new starlings shade on my cornet

Love my new starlings shade on my cornet base lamp!

Fantastic result - 100% satisfaction

So incredibly pleased with Jo’s work on our large oblong Lampshade. We have tried for years to find someone who would take the project on and could not be more pleased with the results. Jo sourced perfect materials, communicated at a distance and very kindly managed to fit the work in while we were staying with family for a week in the area. 100% satisfied. Thank you Jo 🙏.

A complete triumph!

I asked Jo to recover my faded pendant shades since finding replacements of the right depth was impossible. Reusing them was more sustainable, and I could choose fabric to suit my décor. I'm delighted with my bespoke shades, and it feels so much better to recycle than create waste. Jo did a fantastic job and is wonderful to work with—I highly recommend her.

Thrilled with my recovered lampshades,

I had the lamps for years from America could not replace the shades, so happy I found Jo at Lyme , she went to a lot of trouble to get the correct parts , they look wonderful and a good price , thank you Jo,

Shade saved

We bought a 1930s floor lamp a year ago, and have tried and tried to find someone to restore the faded, blotchy shade. Finally we discovered Jo, and it's all looking grand.

Recovered Lampshade

I contacted Jo at Lume Lighting to see if she could refurbish the pagoda shaped lampshade on my oriental brass lamp. Jo was extremely helpful in advising me on material options and once chosen, I sent her the shade to recover it. The task was completed quickly and returned in very sturdy packaging. Some companies I approached would not tackle the job due to the unusual shape. Jo had the experience to take on the project and did an excellent job at a fair cost. I would not hesitate to recommend Lume Lighting if you have a cherished lampshade that needs restoring.
