Learn the craft of contemporary lampshade making in this relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop held at the beautiful Starling Studio in Fiveways, Brighton. In just 2.5 hours you'll go from complete beginner to walking out with a professional looking drum lampshade you've made entirely yourself.

This is a genuinely a lovely way to spend a morning - creative, sociable, and satisfying. No experience is needed whatsoever, and you'll leave not just with a beautiful lampshade but with the skills and confidence to make many more at home.

What you'll learn
- How to apply lampshade PVC to get the best result from your fabric
- How to attach the rings and create neat, professional rolled edges
- A variety of finishing techniques to give your shade a polished look

What you'll make
You'll make either a 20cm or 30cm diameter fabric drum lampshade, suitable for use on a lamp base or ceiling pendant.

What to bring
All tools are provided, you just need to bring your fabric, ironed if possible.

For a 20cm shade bring a piece of fabric 75cm x 25cm, for a 30cm shade bring a piece of fabric 110cm x 30cm

We recommend a light to medium weight fabric - cotton, polycotton, or a linen/cotton mix all work beautifully. Not sure about your fabric? Just get in touch and I'll advise.
