What you can expect from Lume during COVID-19
I hope you are all doing well and staying safe!
I just thought I would give you an update on how I am continuing to work during these unprecedented times.
I am currently still able to take and make orders and will continue to do this until I am no longer able to.
I work from a shared studio, however at the moment I am working solo in the studio as my studio buddy Martha Mitchell Design is able to work from home. I am taking this very seriously and making sure that I don’t come into contact with other people, even postal workers. I am also following the government guidelines with hygiene, and I am making sure all surfaces and my hands have been cleaned before packing orders.
I am reducing my time in the studio to a few days a week and I am also reducing my trips to the post office to once a week. If there are items that I can post in a letter box, I will do this instead of going to a post office.
Royal Mail is currently still operating, even if it is a slightly reduced service. Therefore please be patient as your order may take slightly longer than normal to arrive. If Royal Mail change their service, then I will contact all customers with outstanding orders and make it clear on my website that we can’t post anymore.
A lot of my orders will be parcels and sent out using Royal Mail 1st Class service, and I am now not sending out anything signed for or tracked unless it is a large item and cannot be sent with Royal Mail.
If you are waiting for a delivery of a parcel then this is what Royal Mail are doing for parcel deliveries;
For all customers where we need to deliver any item that won’t fit through your letterbox, we will place your item at your door. Having knocked on your door, we will then step aside to a safe distance while you retrieve your item. This will ensure your item is delivered securely rather than being left outside.
If you are unable to come to the door at all we will issue a ‘Something for You’ card, advising of other ways you can arrange to get your item. For example, by getting a friend or family member to collect the parcel from our local Customer Service Point on your behalf.
